Roman Consul and a few more Phalangites

Roman Consul.
Progress has slowed considerably of late as I'm now back to work.  I painted the Phalangites during the week and the Roman Consul yesterday.
The Consul is inspired by a scene in the 1960, Stanley Kubrick movie "Spartacus".  Anyone who has seen the movie will remember the scene where we first meet Laurence Olivier as Crassus, when he enters the Ludus of Batiatus played by Peter Ustinov.  Dressed in white armour on a magnificent white charger, Larry does a lap of the court yard, if ever anyone needs to make an entrance they should take a look at that scene.

Phalangites
The  Phalangites are from the second Tarentine Phalanx, which is going to be slightly larger than the other two with 24  Phalangites.

I'll make a start on the the remaining 12 this week, once these are finished I've got 20 Peltasts and Pyrrhus himself left to paint, then that's it for the time being.  After that I'll turn my attention back to Rome.

That's it for now.
Cheers

Pyrrhic Successor Update

Just a Quick post showing this weeks progress

Elephant!
Pyrrhus's mate and the Army Standard, this figure will do for the Army General until I get Pyrrhus painted.
Pyrrhus's mate at the head of the Xystorphoroi.
Greek Phalanx
Italian Hoplite Phalanx
Finally as has become tradition, a look in the box.  Obviously I've got to remove the elephant before I can close the lid, but you get the picture.
That's about it for the time being

Romans

I haven't had time to paint any Successors this past fortnight so in the meantime here's some Roman and Numidian Cavalry painted a few years ago.  I've rebases all of the figures since the photo was taken.
